Mr. Dave Keller: President

Mr. Dave Keller: President

Education: B.A. Economics, Manhattan College M.B.A., University of Arizona M.A. Educational Administration, University of Notre Dame Mr. Keller is a 1978 graduate of Manhattan College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After spending seven years on Wall Street as a division controller for an international bank, he earned his MBA from the University of Arizona in 1987. During his graduate studies, he taught economics at the U of A, and later at Pima College. In 1989, he purchased a local software and publishing company, but returned to teaching in 2005 by earning his teaching certificate. He completed his Masters in Education through the Mary Ann Remick ACE Leadership Program at Notre Dame in 2009. Mr. Keller was principal at Our Mother of Sorrows from 2006-2016. He has been president of St. Augustine Catholic High School since 2011.


Mrs. Lynn Cuffari: Principal

Mrs. Lynn Cuffari: Principal

Education: BA Journalism from the University of Arizona Master’s in Education from Framingham State College - Mrs. Cuffari accepted the position of Principal at Saint Augustine High School in 2011 after serving as Principal of Immaculate Heart School for five years. Prior to this, she taught Middle School literature and English at Immaculate Heart. She has also taught at Immaculate Conception in Yuma and at St. Clement’s Episcopal School in El Paso. Prior to earning her Master’s in Education, Mrs. Cuffari worked for more than ten years as a journalist and editor for various newspapers and magazines throughout the country and in Italy. She and her husband, Joseph, enjoy spending time with their son Joe and daughter-in-law, Grace. Mrs. Cuffari enjoys writing and traveling.

Mr. Phong Vu: Assistant Principal/AP Biology/AP Psychology

Education: B.S. in Human Biology at Michigan State University, M.Ed from the University of Notre Dame and M.A in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame in progress. Originally from Texas but spent most of his life in Michigan until he moved to Tucson in 2009, Mr. Vu thoroughly enjoys the desert and the year round sun the climate provides. His favorite thing about St. A's is being able to share his faith with the students and incorporate it into his lessons and on the Kairos retreat. He got married in June 2011 and has three wonderful kids, Patrick, Evelyn and John Paul.

Ms. Talia Quihuis: AP English Language/Creative Writing

Education: B.A. in Secondary Education, Extended English, from the University of Arizona. Mrs. Quihuis was born at Tucson Medical Center and has lived in Tucson most of her life. Since graduating from the University of Arizona 9 years ago, she has been teaching high school English. She is happy to be starting her 3rd year here at St. Augustine as the English Department Chair and looks forward to department meetings with the Dream Team. Mrs. Quihuis and her husband, Dominic, have been married for 8 years and have a daughter, Viviana, and 2 dogs, Daisy and Ginger. When Mrs. Quihuis is not busy making her AP Language students cry, she loves to dance around the family room with her husband and daughter.


Ms. Adilene Encinas:  Spanish/British Literature

Ms. Adilene Encinas: Spanish/British Literature

Education: BA from the University of Arizona in English and Religious Studies. This is Ms. Encinas' fifth year teaching at St. Augustine. She teaches English to Seniors and Spanish to Freshmen. Ms. Encinas attended Catholic school Kindergarten through high school and was part of the third graduating class from St. Augustine High School (2009). She is grateful for the opportunity to come back and teach here. This is also her fifth season as head coach of the girl's volleyball team. In her spare time, Ms. Encinas enjoys watching sports, especially baseball, and reading novels.


Ms. Dana Deradoorian: English/American Literature

Ms. Deradoorian earned her B.A. with double majors in English and History from the University of Notre Dame. Currently, she is working toward her M. Ed through Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). She is one of seven ACE teachers who are lucky enough to call Tucson their home during this program. Ms. D grew up outside of Detroit, Michigan, but is finding the transition to desert living to be quite lovely. She enjoys reading (obviously), but also traveling, cooking / baking, creative writing, dancing, and hiking. Ms. D is so excited to join the St. A's family and to work on becoming better writers, readers, thinkers, and children of God with her students this year!

Ms. Katrina Powell: Theater/World Literature

Katrina earned her B.A. in Education with an emphasis in English and Secondary Education from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters of Education in Educational Counseling. Currently, Katrina is pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Organizational Development from Grand Canyon University. Katrina has been in education for over twenty years in both the public and private school systems. She has taught English, Religion, Science, Math, and Drama and served as an Elementary and Middle School Guidance Counselor. In addition, she served as the supervisor of the Intervention Counseling Program and At Risk student programs in the Sahuarita School District. She has also been a varsity cheer coach and student council advisor in Sahuarita as well as here at St. A’s. Mrs. Powell and her husband, Dustin, have one son, Garrett, and have lived in Tucson for 120years. When not working or studying, Katrina enjoys traveling, reading, dancing, trying new foods, and meeting new people.


Ms. Cathie Parks: Yearbook/Creative Writing

Cathie Parks, new to ST.A’s this year, continues a long teaching career because she is really bad at being retired, and she loves to teach. Born and raised in Tucson she attended Bonillas, Vail Middle School and Rincon High School, then continued to ASU for her degree in History and Secondary Education. She taught in Casa Grande, Camp Verde and in several schools in Tucson, at first combining history and English and later teaching just English at all grade levels. Along the way she started sharing her love of drama and became a drama teacher for high school, middle school and a community theater. Although she acted in a few productions, her first love was directing. In Camp Verde she first advised yearbook, and by the time she taught at Sabino High School, her students were winning best in the nation for their yearbooks. As a part time teacher and a part time retiree, Miss Parks gets to play cards and travel but still gets to teach. A good deal all around for her and for the school.

Education: B.A. Liberal Arts, Major: Art , University of Colorado. Post Baccalaureate Teaching Certification Program, Art Education, English and English as a Second Language, University of Arizona. She spent her life as a University Brat. After coming from a family line of educators and growing up with a father who taught and was a VP and President in the university system, Mrs. Imblum knew it was in her genes to be an educator as well. Mrs. Imblum has taught art in the public school setting most of her career and definitely welcomes the change to a private school. Mrs. Imblum has danced competitively in West Coast Swing Dancing and even won a few trophies! One summer (many moons ago) she went on a trip of a lifetime visiting museums in 18 countries in Europe for 9 weeks and has also done extensive traveling in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. She feels very blessed to be working at St. Augustine and is excited to share her creative insight with her students and feels that all students have an artistic side waiting to be unlocked.

Education: B.A. Music, University of Arizona. Ms. Quijada is a Tucson native, and has spent several years working in the media with a local radio group. She assists with music ministry at Our Mother of Sorrows Parish. She is passionate about listening to and playing any kind of music. She also loves spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies (especially the classics). Ms. Quijada is excited to be teaching at St. Augustine, and enjoys helping students grow in their musical talents.

Mrs. Stacy Lewis: PE/Health

Education: BS in Kinesiology,San Diego State University,with emphasis in Physical Education. She has a single subject teaching credential in Physical Education issued by the state of California, and a supplemental in Health issued by the state of Arizona. Mrs. Lewis is in her third year here at St. Augustine after transitioning from San Diego with her Tucson native husband Tim, and four beautiful children, Madison, Brody, Parker, and Reese. Prior to joining our team, Stacy taught two years at Iftin K-8 Charter school, and one year at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, an all girls Catholic High school located in San Diego. In addition to teaching Mrs. Lewis has been coaching volleyball at the high school and club level for 12 years as well as five years of coaching shot-put and discus throwers on the track and field team. When she is not teaching, coaching or being a mom, she enjoys all forms of physical activity and singing karaoke. FUN FACTS: She has been a state champion volleyball player, a national junior Olympic shot-put champion and a singer in a band.

Ms. Rosemary Bryerton: French/Culinary/Yoga

Education: BA Humanities, Major: French, Minor: Spanish, University of Arizona Post-Baccalaureate Secondary Education Teaching Certificate Program, Arizona State University, Certified with the Arizona Home Bakery and Confectionery program, Aura Wellness Institute of Yoga teacher certification in process - Teaching/Coaching History: After completing her teacher training in 1997, Ms. Bryerton taught in various public, Catholic, and private schools. In 2001, Ms. Bryerton took an eight year sabbatical from teaching to raise her three children. When all of her children entered school, she was fortunate to be hired at SACHS in September of 2010 as a French and Spanish teacher. She is thrilled to now be teaching French, Yoga, and Culinary Basics and is the Chess Club sponsor. She has been married to Mark Schiff since 1994. Their three children Christopher, Elissa, and Elijah are their proudest accomplishments. Along with her passion for teaching, Ms.Bryerton is a an online published haiku/senryu poet and is in the process of compiling her first book of haiku/senryu/micropoetry. Her hobbies include reading, writing haiku poetry in English, French, and Spanish, baking gourmet cookies, cooking, taking long walks, weightlifting, and yoga. She also dreams of writing that Newbery Award winning children's book.

Education: BS in Education: Spanish from the University of Missouri. M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Cathy Meyer, a lifelong resident of Missouri, moved to Tucson in July 2011 and now enjoys being a part of the St. Augustine community. Her husband of 30 years, Jerry, and their son, Andy are the center of her life. Andy is a social studies teacher at San Miguel High and enjoys running. Jerry is Campus Minister at San Miguel High School. Mrs. Meyer has taught Spanish for 29 years and enjoys sharing her love of Spanish language and Hispanic culture with her students. Her favorite thing about teaching is helping students develop proficiency in another language. In her free time, Mrs. Meyer enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, photography and hiking.

Education:BS Chemical Engineering from Ohio University, Athens, OH; MS, Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; MS, Professional Management from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL After retiring from a career in engineering and retiring from the Army Reserves, Mr Petrone spent 8 years as an adjunct instructor at Scott Community College in Davenport, Iowa, teaching college algebra, statistics, and engineering calculations. Mr Petrone and his wife of 50 years have spent the free time that they have had traveling when possible. They have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and Canada, with one trip to Africa concluding their locations to date. Experiencing the different cultures and seeing the world's beauty has been a life-long undertaking. Mr. Petrone has been overwhelmed by the beauty of the American Southwest and has spent one week a year for the past 20 years day hiking in different areas of AZ, UT, CO, and NM. In his tenure at a community college in Iowa, he found teaching to be a very personally rewarding experience. So, when he was asked to fill an unexpected teaching vacancy in Tucson early in 2010, the decision was an easy one.

Education: BA Philosophy at St Meinrad College AA Digital Electronics at Pima Community College Post-Baccalaureate Secondary Education Teaching Certificate Program at Pima Community College. Previous Teaching/Coaching: I worked as a substitute for a year and a half. Previous to that I worked for 30 years in Facilities Maintenance. I enjoy travel and have been all over the U.S. Except for Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. I was born and raised in Michigan. I moved to Tucson 38 years ago and met my wife here. We have two wonderful children. There are two things I miss about Michigan. The first is the portion of my family that still lives there, and the second is the Fall colors. I enjoy fixing things and reading. We have three desert tortoises as pets.

Education: BS in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame with majors in Chemistry and Spanish; M.Ed from the University of Notre Dame. Previous teaching experience: volunteer tutoring with TriO Upward Bound and Separated Children’s Service. Ms. Keefe is originally from Delaware and loves to travel within and outside of the country, but she had never been to Arizona before she started teaching at St. Augustine. After enduring several harsh northeast and midwest winters, she enjoys the climate change. Ms. Keefe is from a family of ten, most of whom have become educators in various grades and subjects. She enjoys learning and teaching science, but she also loves drawing, painting, playing piano, singing, hiking, playing volleyball, and cooking.

Tanya Bullard earned her BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona. In 2010 Tanya received her teaching credentials in Secondary Education, US Government, Economics, and World History. She was raised and educated in the Diocese of Tucson, attending St. Ambrose and Salpointe High School. She worked four years at Lourdes Catholic School in Nogales, AZ and recently moved back to Tucson to be close to her family. In 2016 – 2017 Tanya served on the Middle School Social Studies committee to review and revise diocesan standards. She is currently on the Social Studies committee to review and revise high school standards. Tanya has been a student council advisor for three years and will be the St. Augustine STUCO advisor. Tanya is married with a busy toddler. When she isn’t chasing after her son, Tanya enjoys watching rugby, football, and reading.


Ms. Maureen Summers: World History/AP World History/Global Literacy

Maureen Summers earned her B.B.A. at Western Michigan University. After graduation, she worked as a claims insurance supervisor in Michigan, Florida, and California. A move to AZ gave her the opportunity to pursue her teaching certificate in secondary education with an endorsement for 5th & 6th. She then taught at Immaculate Heart Schools for 12 years. Following her career start at IHA, she earned her primary certificate and taught for 3 years at Laguna Elementary in the Flowing Wells school district. She is thrilled to be a member of St. Augustine High Staff and in a community truly built on service. Currently, she is a member of the Diocesan Social Studies Committee. As a mom, grandma, and sister, she enjoys visiting her daughter’s family in Nevada and her siblings in Michigan & North Carolina. Camping, lecturing at Our Lady of the Desert, participating in a book club, and a Bible study occupy her spare time.


Mr. Carlos Solorzano: Theology/Percussion/Freshmen Seminar

Carlos Solorzano was born and raised in Carson, CA, which is an industrial town near the Port of Los Angeles. He is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach where he earned his BA & MA in Religious Studies with his focus being on New Testament & Ancient Christianity. He also has an AA in Music from El Camino Community College in Torrance, CA and has recently completed all of his required courses for certification at the Theology of the Body Institute near Philadelphia, PA. When he is not working at St. A's, he works as a professional drummer in the local music scene, writes percussion-based music that has been featured on various television shows around the world, likes to write (he has a few books published by a small publisher & blogs on occasion), read, watch films, listen to great music, give talks at local parishes & feeder schools on the Theology of the Body and spend as much time as possible with his family. He is married with two children and has lived in the Tucson area for the past 11 years.

Education: Education: B.A. in Catechetics, B.A. in Theology, Franciscan University of Steubenville, M.A. in Theology and Ministry, Boston College (in progress) This is Ms. Rambaran's sixth year teaching at St. Augustine. In college, Ms. Rambaran fell in love with missionary work and participated in multiple mission trips. Prior to teaching at St. Augustine, Ms. Rambaran served as a missionary with NET ministries. Growing up in a military family, Ms. Rambaran moved several times and developed a love for travel (especially abroad). Ms. Rambaran enjoys spending time with her family, all things musical, and cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks (her favorite MLB team). Ms. Rambaran feels honored to work at St. Augustine where she can share her faith on a daily basis.

Previous Teaching/Coaching: Ms. Alderete has coached volleyball and track for Diocesan elementary schools. Ms. Alderete serves the school in the Advancement Department. She also serves on the Advancement Leadership Council as a member for St. Augustine. She has had 12 years of banking experience and brings a zeal to helping the school thrive. She also has worked for three years doing national marketing for businesses. She is happily married to Ruben going on twenty years, has four wonderful children, three of whom have graduated from St. Augustine and one who currently attends. Her hobbies are weekends enjoying her time off with her family and participating in all their children's sports at school & their club team sports as well.


Ms. Stacy DeLong:  Financial  Manager

Ms. Stacy DeLong: Financial Manager

Education: B.A. Business Administration/Accounting, Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa. Ms. DeLong came to us from Most Holy Trinity Parish in Tucson as their Business and Facilities Manager. Prior to that, she worked 22 years as a Real Estate Appraiser. Ms. DeLong volunteered at Corpus Christi parish for 11 years in their high school youth ministry and confirmation programs; was a founding member of their Women’s Retreat Ministry; and a construction board member for 3 years prior to the building of the parish church in 2009. She facilitated with the Diocese Deacon and LEM formation program from 2009-2011. Ms. DeLong is also a writer and published author. Her book, "The Value of Volunteers", offers a practical guide for leaders in youth ministry and others who work with volunteers. Ms. DeLong moved to Tucson in 1999 from Nebraska. Her new position is assisting families in finding tuition scholarship assistance and assisting Mr. Keller with the accounting management of the school. In her spare time, she is working on writing her first novel.

Education: University of Nebraska, B.S.Ed., At Nebraska he minored in Drama and acted professionally for several years with Nebraska State Repertory Theatre, dinner theaters, Omaha Community Playhouse and others. University of Arizona, M.Ed. (Reading), University of Arizona, M.Ed. (Educational Media) - Teaching/Coaching History: Omaha North and Central HS (Omaha, NE) - English, Reading, Drama; Tehran American School (Teheran, Iran) – English, Ski Club advisor; Pueblo HS (TUSD)-Reading, English, Speech, Drama, Television Production, Swimming Coach, Athletic Director. At Pueblo High School he initiated numerous El Tour de Tucson bicycle teams which won several first place awards in the 111mile race (high school division) as well as fund raising awards. While at P.H.S. Mr. Montgomery’s received two US Congressional Recognition awards for service to the Hispanic community, two Mayoral Commendations and a Mayoral Proclamation for Pueblo high School Media Week. Mr Montgomery has traveled in India, Iran, Central Asia,Scotland, Korea, and Italy as well Canada and Mexico. His current passion is to reestablish and maintain the beautiful structures and grounds of our historic campus.


Mr. David Oboyski: Director of Admissions

Mr. David Oboyski: Director of Admissions

Education: B.A. Political Science, University of Arizona; M.A. Teaching, Union College (Schenectady, NY). Mr. Oboyski is a husband and the father of three boys, including a 2012 graduate of St. Augustine Catholic High School. Mr. Oboyski was a horrible high school hockey player, a disabused engineering student (loved the math and science), a CIA intelligence officer (met the President and Harrison Ford) and a long-time marketing executive working in advertising and public relations. High tech and health care were his prime industries, and he helped launch companies, IPOs and products for small businesses and billion-dollar corporations. The Great Recession kindly blessed Mr. Oboyski with the chance to return to one of his first loves and the subject of his graduate degree: education. An amateur geek, he wrote his graduate thesis on using the computer game Civilization to teach concepts of world history. Mr. Oboyski is a lover of excellence; hence he is a fan of the New York Yankees, the Montreal Canadiens, Xbox, Frank Sinatra, jazz, Queen, Marcus Aurelius, C.S. Lewis, Instapundit, Jane Austen, John Wayne and Montecristo cigars.

Education: BA: Elementary, and Special Education from Northern Arizona University 1994; MA: School Counseling from Northern Arizona University 2003. Mrs. Siath accepted the position of guidance counselor in 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic High School after teaching for Academy of Tucson. Before that, Mrs. Siath worked for the Diocese of Tuscon as a full time teacher, part time resource teacher, reading specialist, and/or part time counselor at the following schools: Our Mother of Sorrows, St. Peter and Paul, San Xavier Mission, Santa Cruz Catholic School, and Immaculate Heart Academy. Meg also volunteers at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mrs. Siath is married to Daniel Siath and they have three children. She enjoys cheering for her children and for the students at St. Augustine.

Education: BA in Education for Prescott College. Prior to working at St. Augustine's, was the Resource Coordinator at Saints Peter and Paul. At Saints Peter and Paul assisted in the design and development of a "team approach" for helping struggling students achieve academic success. Married with two wonderful and talented daughters. Enjoy spending time with family, traveling, being outdoors, art.

Education: BA from Holy Cross College in Communications and Sports Management. Mr. Salazar is an alumni of St. Augustine Catholic High School (Class of '11). He received a four-year scholarship to play baseball at the NAIA level at Holy Cross College and was a four-year letterman in baseball at HCC. In his spare time, Mr. Salazar enjoys watching and playing sports, watching movies and finding new shows on Netflix.


Ms. Cindy Scheuer:  IT Coordinator/3D/DMT

Ms. Cindy Scheuer: IT Coordinator/3D/DMT

Education: B.S. in Restaurant and Hotel Management and B.A. in Spanish from Purdue University Post-baccalaureate certificate in Education Pima Community College After moving from cold Indiana, Mrs. Scheuer spent several years as a catering manager in Tucson. She retired from that business to focus on her growing family of boys (three boys and a husband!). A few years later, Mrs. Scheuer began teaching Spanish, first at St. Alban's Kindergarten and then at Bloom Elementary. She spent ten years at Our Mother of Sorrows Elementary School teaching a wide variety of subjects including spanish, language arts, social studies and technology. She is in her 3rd year at St. Augustine as the tech coordinator and teaching technology-related courses. Her boys are now out of the house (with the exception of the husband!) and are in the fields of medicine, bioinformatics and physics. When not working with computers, you can find her reading, watching old movies, rooting for her favorite sports teams and planning her next trip with her husband!


Ms. Jeanne Yarab: Food Service Manager

Ms. Jeanne Yarab: Food Service Manager

Mrs. Yarab is nearly a native of Arizona – having lived 88% of her life in Tucson. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Service Management. In addition, she has an Elementary Education teaching degree from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Yarab is an Adjunct Faculty member with Pima Community College and has been teaching in the Culinary/Hospitality Department for the past 10 years. Her family is very active in Boy Scouts. Her husband Gerry is Scout Master, and she is Troop Committee Chair for Troop 733 chartered by St. Joseph’s Parish. She has two daughters – one is a graduate of St. Augustine, the second one is graduating in 2016. Her son will be joining St. Augustine as a freshman in the fall of 2016. Jeanne is very excited to be a part of St. Augustine’s school lunch program and cannot wait for the day when the school kitchen can provide freshly made, nutritious meals

Ms. Susan Spaniol: Registrar/ Office Manager

Ms. Spaniol serves as the registrar and office manager at SACHS. She is the proud mother of four children, all who are in Catholic schools, with her eldest son being a sophomore this year at SACHS, save the youngest, who will be soon! She enjoys spending time with her children on the weekends.

Ms. Robin Walsh: Administrative Assistant, Health Clerk, Compliance Officer

Education: Nursing Vocational School - CNA/ Certified Nurses Assistant American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certified. Previous Teaching/Coaching: Assistant Coach of the 2007 Our Mother of Sorrows Track & Field Team (Grades 4th – 8th). Ms. Walsh serves as the health clerk at Saint Augustine. She has been married for "25 wonderful years and still counting" and has two children. She also serves as the Treasurer for the Choir/Theater Performing Arts Board at SACHS. She enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and boating. Once a month she plays Bunco with her friends. She has loved watching her children grow in their Catholic faith and their academic abilities at St. Augustine. Ms. Walsh also enjoys supporting and attending her children’s co-curricular activities in choir, theater and sports. She feels truly blessed to have such wonderful family, friends and co-workers.
