Parent Volunteer Information
Thank you for considering volunteering to help us host our new students at this year's Family Orientation. Information about the events is below. You may download these instructions for printing by clicking on the icon below (English on the left, Spanish on the right). When you're ready to register to volunteer, click on the registration button.

How to Volunteer

Donate Snacks and Water
You may donate snacks or bottled water and receive credit toward your parent-service hours. We must receive all donations by noon on Thursday, April 26. When you drop off your donation, you must submit your receipt in the front office or the Admissions Office. You will receive one parent-service hour for each $10 worth of donations. We prefer snacks such as cookies, crackers, candy, granola bars, fresh fruit, cupcakes, muffins, or brownies.
Date and Time
If you cannot work the entire shift, partial shifts are possible. You may volunteer to work as many shifts as you want. Summary descriptions of each work area are below.

We welcome Spanish-speaking volunteers for all work areas. Several new families are more comfortable speaking Spanish. Please note if you are uncomfortable speaking English so we can be sure to have an English-speaking volunteer on the same shift.
Changing Your Time or Shift
If you are unable to work your shift, please contact the school as soon as possible.
If you need to change the times or the areas for which you registered, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who May Volunteer
Any family member cleared to volunteer at St. Augustine.
Due to the nature of these events, children should NOT accompany the volunteer except for set-up or clean-up.
Location and Parking
The Family Orientation begins in the Chapel and ends in the gym. The closest parking to the Chapel is in the gravel lot north of the Chapel and the tennis courts. Parking closest to the gym is in the lots in front of and behind the gym.
Dress comfortably and appropriately for meeting new families.
Submitting Parent Service Hours
We will submit your parent-service hours for you and send you a copy of the form.
|Post a-frame direction signs.
||Set-up and arrange tables, chairs, and room screens.|
|Prepare the Chapel.||Create and hang signs for Information Sessions and Tables.|
|Set up the check-in area.||Distribute trash cans.|
|Sweep the gym.||Supervise multiple Student Ambassadors.|

|Greet students and families.
||Clean and straighten the Chapel.
|Record student and family members attending.
||Break down the check-in area, return table and chairs to gym, take supplies and papers to Admissions Office.|
||Supervise one to three Student Ambassadors.|

|Guide families from the Chapel to the gym and direct them to sit in the bleachers.
||Assist session presenters as needed.|
|Assist families to select the first session they will attend and help to distribute attendees evenly among the four sessions.
||Sit in on sessions to which you might like to contribute (please coordinate with the presenter).|
|Help to direct families to the next session after each round.
||Assist families that need to leave before the end of the Information Sessions.|

|Assist families to find tables or return to session areas that interest them.
|Distribute handouts to families as they exit.
||Connect Ambassadors with families seeking tours.|
|Sit in at a table to which you might like to contribute (please coordinate with the table presenter).

|Collect a-frame signs and take down hung direction signs.
||Remove and replace trash bags and take trash to dumpster.|
|Break down chairs and tables and return them to their storage areas.
||Take down and discard signs for Information Sessions and Tables.|
|Collect and organize materials and supplies and take them to the Admissions Office.
||Sweep the gym.|
