St. Augustine Catholic High School Welcomes Its New Sign!
Something as a simple as a sign! You’d think it would take only as long as the time to manufacture it to finally get a sign installed. This is not the case.
It has taken St. Augustine Catholic High School’s sign approximately two years in the making: from creation to fund raising to city and permit requirements to finally be able to install a professional, state of the art, LED school marquee at the entrance of the school’s drive. Yes, persistence does pay!
Although the sign is as large as was permitted by the city, it appears smaller than similar signs its size. SACHS property borders the frontage of 22nd Street for almost three city blocks. This area is all natural desert vegetation and not developed, so the sign appears to be somewhat “dwarfed” by its surroundings. In addition, the sign had to be set back several feet from the easement of 22nd Street to accommodate future expansion of the road. The new school sign will allow for night lighting, as well as a amber lighted LED read out. Vandals beware: cleverly disguised and hidden surveillance cameras operate 24/7!
The wonderful new sign was made possible by a grant and underwriting by Bank of Tucson. St. Augustine Catholic High School is very grateful to the Bank of Tucson for their contribution and support!
